“What I think is that God is right there holding us up, and strengthening us, and weeping with us, and helping us to face unspeakable heartache.”

In this episode, I interview Reverend Lorraine Peterson. Lorraine and I met at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA while we were both pursuing our undergraduate degrees. I was impressed with her then for her spiritual commitment, and that feeling has only continued as the years have passed. The road to becoming a pastor is long, as Lorraine will describe in this episode, and Lorraine has rolled with all the punches and drama and never lost her focus. In recent years, Lorraine’s time spent as a pediatric chaplain has brought her to near superhero status in my eyes. She helps families and children undergoing some of life’s most devastating tragedies, the sort of horror that as a new mama I can’t begin to imagine. Lorraine helps families carry life’s heaviest burdens in their time of serious need. I think you’ll enjoy her inspiring story.

IN THIS EPISODE, I EXPLORE:

  • Why Lorraine wanted to become a pastor

  • How one becomes a pastor

  • The shift to becoming a pediatric chaplain

  • Lorraine’s thoughts on how one could keep faith in times of hardship
